The third and final review meeting took place in Eschikon in September 2018. Successful demonstrations included autonomous UAV and UGV navigation, communication between the robots, as well as autonomous weeding in the form of spraying.

Recordings from the Flourish Demo event were aired on Italian TV on 22nd May 2018 at 7:30am, on the program "Buongiorno Regione (Good Morning Region)". They were partly re-transmitted on the Regional TV newscast at 2pm. It can be watched here, where Flourish is featured at minutes 11:28-13:42 and 23:31-27:46.

On 9th May 2018, ASSAM had a press conference at the Marche Region offices presenting the Flourish project. The corresponding press release in Italian is available here.

A successful integration week followed by the end-user evaluation and a public event took place at the Villa Salvati near Ancona.

In October 2017, the second successful review meeting took place in Bonn.

In September 2017, the fourth integration week took place in Bonn. Experiments took place on a sugar beet field with the UAV and UGV.

The Swiss TV station 3sat broadcasted a TV story about the Flourish project. You can watch the whole program in the 3sat mediathek. The part about Flourish starts at 17:20. It was included in an article on the website of the Swiss broadcasting company Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen.

The Flourish press video has been released. It is available on youtube. The video introduces the Flourish project. It shows the motivation behind Flourish and illustrates technologies developed within the project.

The Flourish paper "UAV-Based Crop and Weed Classification for Smart Farming" wins the Best Paper Award in Automation of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society at ICRA 2017.

In March 2017, the consortium met in Eschikon for the third successful Integration Week. Preparations for a large scale data collection took place.

In October 2016, the Flourish consortium met in Eschikon for the second integration week.

A successful review meeting for the first reporting period took place on the 27th October.

Last week, Flourish team members of the University of Bonn and of ETH Zurich met in Bonn for joint aerial and ground-based data collection, using the Bonirob and one of the project's unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), all equipped with a hyperspectral camera.

The collected data provides crop scientists and roboticists a means of analyzing crop parameters and determining the sensor requirements toward automated precision agriculture.

We are currently conducting long-term data collection, perception and navigation experiments with the Bonirob platform of ALU-FR used in the Flourish project at the Campus Klein-Altendorf near Bonn.

The FLOURISH consortium sucessfully met in Freiburg for integrating latest hardware and software components.
